In 2006 all the new dancers were graduates of The Australian Ballet School. They were introduced as they took their places by Mark Annear, Head of Senior School and of Academic Studies. We then watched a video specially prepared by Paul Brickhill, Head of Music and Audio-Visual Coordinator, showing examples of the dancers' artistry from the School's Pas de deux Exhibition at the end of 2005. Next, David McAllister, Artistic Director of The Australian Ballet, questioned the dancers in turn about their early training, their reasons for choosing ballet, and their hopes for the future. There was time for a number of questions from the audience which evoked further interesting insights. Flowers and gifts were then presented to the speakers who assembled for the photograph below. (Minus Mark Annear, who was not caught in the round-up.)

Front row: Reiko Hombo, Gabriella Raetz, Josie Woodgate, Melissa Lenehan, Brooke Lockett.
Audience and speakers then moved to the Dancers' Deli for a supper of sandwiches and sparkling, where members were able to chat personally with the New Dancers.
